How do I open a folder as a project?+
Tap the "+" button on the home screen and select "Open Folder". Navigate to any folder containing markdown files and select it. The folder will be added to your projects list where you can pin it, assign a color, and access it anytime.
What markdown features are supported?+
Markstone supports standard markdown including headers, bold, italic, strikethrough, links, images, code blocks (with syntax highlighting), tables, blockquotes, horizontal rules, ordered and unordered lists, task lists, and more.
How do I upgrade to Pro?+
Tap the settings icon in the app and select "Upgrade to Pro". You can choose between an annual subscription (€19.99/year) or a one-time lifetime purchase (€49.99). Both options include a 14-day free trial.
Can I use Markstone on multiple devices?+
Yes! Markstone is a universal app that works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your purchase or subscription applies to all devices signed in with your Apple ID.
Does Markstone sync my files?+
Markstone doesn't implement its own sync. However, if your markdown files are stored in iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or another cloud service, they'll automatically sync across your devices through those services.
How do I cancel my subscription?+
Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your device, find Markstone, and tap "Cancel Subscription". You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
Is my data private?+
Absolutely. Markstone is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your files never leave your device, we don't collect personal data, and there are no analytics or tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?+
Open Markstone on your new device, go to Settings > Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Can I export or share rendered markdown?+
Yes! While viewing a document, tap the share button to share the rendered content or the original markdown file. You can send it via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any other sharing option on your device.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?+
The Free tier allows up to 3 projects with full viewing capabilities. Pro unlocks unlimited projects, full editing with a formatting toolbar, and priority email support. Both include all viewing features, dark mode, and folder customization.
